Call Me Old Fashioned

During the COVID-19 stay at home order in 2020, Rick was eager to keep to keep the creative juices flowing (no pun). Sparked by Hurlbut Academy’s #MakeItEpic challenge to shoot a mundane task and make it look epic, we challenged ourselves to make use of the materials we had available. Utilizing a combination of handheld camera techniques and movement, we tried to create an engaging video around the creation of an old fashioned cocktail. In addition to shooting, Rick also edited, colored and recorded foley for sound design in the overall mix.

On April 15th, Cinematographer Shane Hurlbut, ASC (Drumline, Greatest Game Ever Played, Terminator Salvation, Need for Speed, etc.) announced Rick as a winner for the Make it Epic challenge on Facebook Live.
